Lauren Dill, Founder & CEO of NINE TO FIVE CHIC
Hey Boss Babes!
I created NINE TO FIVE CHIC because as a working woman I have become acquainted with the struggle of finding quality clothes that not only look good, but also exude confidence and sophistication. Women are so powerful and a true force of light, so I wanted to curate looks that reflect that power and allow women to bask in their authenticity and divine femininity.
Those closest to me, know that I pride myself in being very hardworking and that I dedicate so much time and passion into my work. I love learning and working as a legal advocate but I also love doing it in style. I'm the girl that walked into my first day of law school in a houndstooth two piece blazer set with a bright orange bodysuit. I'll never forget the look on the faces of my fellow classmates when I walked into my contracts class and sat in the front row. I've been told so many times that in the professional world I should consider "toning down" my appearance to fit in with those around me. However, with age I have come to realize that "fitting in" really just means fitting into the mold or perspective that someone else has projected on people who appear different from them. Hence, I love the idea of living in my most authentic self with no intention or desire to fit in, and to be honest I think that is one of my best qualities. I tell this story because in my ten years of working, whether working as a retail associate, an NBA Dancer, a recruiting manager, or a legal associate - I have learned that there will always be people that want to put you (women especially) into a box or into a mold that they see fit for you. I think that it is so important for women to never suppress their style, personality, or quirky characteristics for anyone because that might just be the distinguishing quality that makes you unique.
My mission for this brand is to encourage women to feel confident in all aspects of their lives, whether that is working from home, in an office, in a courtroom, on a date, or out on the town. Glass ceilings are meant to be broken, so let me help you do it in style!
